Searching for…meaning

The exhibition ‘Nothing Ever Happens’ looks at landscape and man’s search for meaning in nature; seeking isolation, meditation, solitude and sanctuary in a more natural environment.

So we went for a walk.

We met at the OSR at 4.30am, trying to forget about the pints of ‘Stargazer’ we were drinking in the pub after the Dyne Drewett private view at the OSR just a few hours earlier.

The exhibition Curator Nia Metcalfe and Myself (Simon Lee Dicker) were joined by emerging artists Georgina Conroy and Valerie Bamber and filmmaker Christian Hart on a four hour stroll around the Somerset countryside. The search for meaning was often secondary to the search for the best way to get out of a field or around a heard of bullocks, but the the conversation was good and the waterproofs stayed dry.
